Privacy Policy
Last updated 27 October 2026
St. Paul Pens (“St. Paul”, “we”) is a small handmade goods workshop in South Africa, run by Anthony Slater. This policy explains what personal information we collect through stpaulpens.com, the St. Paul SA app and our Facebook and Instagram pages, and how we use it. We handle your information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- Order details: your name, email, phone number, delivery address and the items you order.
- Personalisation you give us, such as engraving text, names, photos or messages for a gift.
- Messages you send us by WhatsApp, email or the support system.
- Your account login details if you create an account.
- Basic usage data from cookies and analytics (pages visited, device and browser type).
Payments are processed by PayFast. We never see or store your card details.
How we use it
- To make, deliver and support your order.
- To send order updates by email or WhatsApp.
- To answer your questions and handle returns or repairs.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
- To show our work on social media, only if you say yes at checkout.
We do not sell your personal information.
Facebook and Instagram
We use a Facebook app to publish photos of finished pieces to our own Facebook Page and Instagram account. Only St. Paul staff log in to this app. It uses access to our own Page and Instagram account to post content and nothing else. We do not use it to collect information about customers or other Facebook users.
At checkout we ask whether we may publish photos of your finished piece. If you say no, we will not post it. If you change your mind later, contact us and we will remove the post.
Who we share it with
- PayFast, to process payments.
- Courier companies, to deliver your order.
- WhatsApp (Meta), to send order messages if you share your phone number.
- Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel, to measure site traffic and advertising.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the website and order records.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as South African tax and accounting law requires, and to support warranties and repairs. Other information is deleted when it is no longer needed or when you ask us to.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. See our data deletion page for how to ask. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
